This weekend I was back in the States for some much needed hang-time with my partner and some casual leaf peeping. As you do in New England in the fall. We were a week or so early for the full effect but we rented a car and roamed around, stopping for pumpkin baked goods snacking and antique shop exploring along the way.
Props to D for finding this gem of a diner via Google Maps. I spotted the wall of jello molds as soon as we pulled into the parking lot and knew we'd found a winner. I spent most of lunch gazing adoringly at the wall and making note of ones I hadn't seen before. Simple pleasures, folks.
Then, in a very fancy antique shop we found these!
These molds were more likely used for baking but I like to think someone whipped up an aspic or something equally as old school. Alas, I didn't one of these home (and they're likely not food safe by modern standards anyhow) but I did enjoy the treasure hunt.
